Hey, I'm Jeff

I got my PADI license when I was 15 years old, diving off the coast of Connecticut. Hooked immediately.

Since then, I've dived all over the world. Florida Keys. Sipadan. UK waters. Egypt. Each location taught me something different about gear, conditions, and what actually matters underwater.

Friends started asking what BCD to buy, which regulator was worth it, whether cheap wetsuits would do for UK diving. I got tired of repeating myself, so I started writing it down. That became this site.

What I Actually Do

I'm not sponsored by any brand. I don't get free gear. I just like doing research and helping divers avoid the mistakes I made.

I spend hours reading expert reviews, watching dive videos, and digging through ScubaBoard and r/scuba to find what actually works. Then I write it up so you can skip the 40-hour rabbit hole and get straight to the answer.

I'm upfront about something: I haven't personally used every piece of gear on this site. What I have done is read hundreds of reviews and forum posts to find the consensus. When experts agree, I tell you. When they disagree, I tell you that too.

Diving has been a lifelong passion, but I've applied the same research approach to other hobbies. Espresso. Vinyl. 3D printing. Home gym. Motorcycles. Same process: go deep, find the consensus, write it up.

The handle "Espresso_Jeff" stuck from another project, so you'll find me under that name everywhere, even when I'm talking about regulators.
